Bournemouth

Mousset attracting Gala interest

25th January 2019, 11:34 by James Mason

Galatasaray are lining up a bid for Bournemouth forward Lys Mousset, reports claim.

Turkish outfit Galatasaray are believed to have failed in their attempts to sign Alan and Alexandre Pato during this window and they are now switching their attention to highly-rated forward Mousset.

Big things were expected from the France Under-21 international when he broke into Bournemouth's senior ranks in 2016 but he has struggled to make his mark on the Premier League, scoring just two goals from 49 appearances.

The 22-year-old has made just seven top-flight starts and the Cherries are reportedly ready to offload the Montivilliers-born star before the end of the transfer window after becoming frustrated with his lack of progress.

Galatasaray are optimistic they can secure Mousset's signature and they may be able to get him for a slightly cheaper price due to his contract expiring in the summer of 2020.
