Rivals emerge for Cherries keeper target

23rd April 2019, 12:35 by Gareth Freeman

Bournemouth continue to be linked with Jack Butland but they may face competition from Crystal Palace for the Stoke keeper.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe is on the lookout for a new shot-stopper ahead of the summer transfer window as both Asmir Begovic and Artur Boruc have been first-choice at different stages this season, with Begovic starting 24 league games and Boruc 11.

Boruc, 39, is out of contract at the end of the campaign and it remains to be seen if he will be offered a new deal.

England international Butland is set to leave the Potters in the summer after one season in the Championship as he is keen to return to the Premier League and battle for the number one spot with the Three Lions ahead of Euro 2020.

The Cherries are likely to face competition for Butland however, as Premier League rivals Palace are also considering a move for the 26-year-old.
