Wilson in fitness race

30th January 2019, 10:37 by Nick Harris

Callum Wilson will undergo a late fitness test ahead of Bournemouth's clash with Chelsea on Wednesday night.

The much sought-after striker is a doubt after picking up a minor knee injury during the win over West Ham last time out and, if there is any doubt he will not feature.

The Cherries new £12m signing Chris Mepham could make his Premier League debut against the club who released him as a schoolboy, although Eddie Howe is likely to keep him on the bench.

Former Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke, who joined the Cherries for £19m earlier this month, is still a few weeks away from full fitness, although he is back in training.

Howe said: "We know we'll have to be at our best if we're to get something from Chelsea.

"Yes, there's been some talk about Chelsea and their performances, but every time we've come up against them they're one of the best."
