Hughton sets points target
Chris Hughton has given his Brighton team a 40-point target to ensure they avoid the drop from the Premier League.
Following Saturday's dull goalless draw with Watford the Seagulls are five points and five places clear of the drop zone on 27 points - 13 short of the 40-point target.
Last season Hughton's men reached 40 points with two games to spare and they will be looking for the same figure again this term.
Although the supposedly magic benchmark is not always required, the boss does not want to take any chances.
He told The Argus: "It never is 40 needed but we still always do aim for it.
"That's your safety net as such.
"I think that's a sensible one to look to achieve and of course the quicker you can get there the better."
