Izquierdo confident of survival
Jose Izquierdo is adamant Brighton can avoid relegation although he knows the team need to start upping their game.
The Seagulls have picked up just one win from their last 12 Premier League matches and have subsequently slipped to 16th in the standings, just two points and two places above the relegation zone.
Brighton have a crucial home clash against rock-bottom Huddersfield Town on Saturday and Colombia international Izquierdo will be eyeing a start after returning to action after almost three months out in Tuesday's loss to Leicester City.
The 26-year-old is adamant the squad are capable of staying up but knows improvement is desperately needed.
"We are only the ones that can get ourselves out of this situation," Izquierdo said. "We know the quality we have, the players that we have, we just try to do our best and do everything for the club in each position, and I hope everything is going to be alright.
"In Colombia, we say play or die. We know we are strong at the Amex, we have a big chance against the opponent, push hard and fight and try to get the points."
