Seagulls boss targets crucial run
Chris Hughton has urged his Brighton side not to waste their chance to pick up vital points in their favourable upcoming run of games.
The Seagulls have earned praise for their performances in defeat against both Liverpool and Manchester United and have managed to emerge from those defeats with a seven-point cushion over the bottom three.
Next up is the FA Cup clash with West Brom before a run of Premier League games that looks made for picking up points.
Brighton travel to Fulham a week on Tuesday, before home fixtures against Watford and Burnley. While they travel to Chelsea on February 24, the Amex outfit then face Leicester, Huddersfield, Crystal Palace, Cardiff and Southampton in March and could easily propel themselves up the table.
While he was pleased with how his players fared against Liverpool and United, Hughton says it is now time for them to take advantage of their upcoming run by picking up some points to aid their quest for survival.
Hughton told The Argus: "If you had asked me at this stage would I be happy on the back of two positive performances against United and Liverpool and to be seven points clear then I would say yes.
"But the pressure is always getting the points you need to.
"We are going into a series of games now and the pressure will be on us to make sure that we get points from those games."
