Stephens urges focus for cup
Brighton midfielder Dale Stephens says his team-mates must grasp their opportunity in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
The Seagulls defeated Derby County in the previous round and were handed a more favourable draw for the last eight as they travel to face Championship strugglers Millwall on Sunday.
Boss Chris Hughton has elected to make changes to his team for the competition so far, although it has not stopped them from progressing to their second quarter-final in as many years.
Stephens himself has not necessarily been a regular fixture in the side for the FA Cup and says whoever is chosen to start the game must take advantage of the opportunity.
“Because we have no Premier League game this week, or the week after, it is a one-off game,” Stephens said. “We would treat it like that regardless of the last two results.
“It is an opportunity for the players who play in the competition to go out and show what they can do again. It’s a game we’re looking forward to and progressing in the competition. It’s a massive opportunity for us. We are looking to progress to a semi-final at Wembley.”
