Burnley defender set for Sunderland move
Reports claim Sunderland are on the verge of signing Burnley defender Jimmy Dunne on loan in the next 24 hours.
Dunne was loaned out to Scottish Premiership outfit Hearts in the summer but his campaign was halted after sustaining an ankle injury.
After returning to Burnley earlier this week, he stepped up his recovery on Monday by turning out for their under-23s.
The defender, who is unlikely to force his way into Sean Dyche’s plans, has expressed a desire to head back out on loan for the second half of the term.
Reports say League One promotion hopefuls Sunderland have made contact with the Premier League side and a deal is expected to be finalised in the next 24 hours.
