Burnley tie down Thomas
Burnley have announced teenage defender Bobby Thomas has been given his first professional contract at Turf Moor.
The centre-back has been impressive in recent months after playing a number of games for the Under-23s.
The 18-year-old will put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the club just a few years after leaving Crewe in the summer of 2017.
Striker Will Harris and goalkeeper Kai Calderbank-Park have also been offered new deals.
Academy manager Jon Pepper told the club's official website: "Bobby has been a feature for the Under-23s and the fact that he has made that step quite smoothly has been integral to that decision, and we look forward to seeing him develop further."
However, the club have released a number of young scholars, with Michael Fowler, Oscar Woods, Kian Yari, Ethan Kershaw, Richard Taylor, Dan Moss, Terry Mupariwa and Dylon Meredith all set to move on.
Tom Hill offers a strong insight into football and rugby league, whilst also having a good knowledge of several other sports including boxing, horse racing and American Football.
