Crouch hails impressive Barnes and Wood
Burnley strikers Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood have left Peter Crouch feeling "impressed" and "surprised" since he arrived at the club.
The 38-year-old was drafted into the Turf Moor squad by boss Sean Dyche at the end of the January transfer window but the former England international has been restricted to substitute outings so far due to the form of Wood and Barnes.
The duo have 16 Premier League goals between them this term, while Barnes has scored five goals in the last six games to sit second behind Sergio Aguero in the scoring charts for 2019.
And, when asked on his thoughts about Barnes and Wood, Crouch admitted to being surprised at how good they are.
He said: "I've been so impressed with both of them. I really think they're two very good players and I've been very impressed with the amount of goals they've scored, the work that they get through, their hold up play.
"Those two have been really good and I know my role.
"They have been first class since I came in and I have been surprised by just how good they are.
"I don't think they need my help, they are both strong characters and are both very good at what they do."
