Defour ready to play
Steven Defour is hoping to feature more often for Burnley starting with the home clash against Southampton on Saturday.
The Clarets face a crucial month of fixtures where they play clubs in and around the drop zone in four out of five games, starting with Southampton.
Johann Gudmundsson and Phil Bardsley both recovered from injury in time to face Manchester United in midweek but Matthew Lowton missed out and is not expected to be fit for the Sainsts game.
New signing Peter Crouch may get a place on the bench but Defour is hoping to feature and has pledged to work hard in training.
He told reporters: "I feel good now so I'll keep on training and keep on working.
"I just need to forget everything, it's not been a very good season for the team or myself but it's getting better now.
"Southampton at home is a very important game. These are the games we have to win, especially at home, if you want to stay up.
"We're in a good position now, the lads have done brilliantly, so we have to keep on working."
