Dunne thanks Hearts after returning to Burnley

7th January 2019, 16:05 by Neil Foster

Defender Jimmy Dunne thanked Hearts for his loan spell north of the border after returning to Burnley.

The 21-year-old came through the Manchester United youth ranks before joining Burnley in 2016.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 ace moved into the first-team picture the following year but has yet to make an appearance for Sean Dyche's side.

Loan spells at National League outfit Barrow and League Two club Accrington Stanley followed before the centre-half was shipped out to Tynecastle for the first half of the 2018-19 campaign.

He is now back at Turf Moor and it remains to be seen if Dyche opts to farm him out once again but, whatever happens, the youngster had nothing but praise for his experience in Edinburgh.

"I can't thank this club enough. I felt at home here," he tweeted. "The passion and support shown from the fans at this club is unbelievable! Keep going for the rest of the season Jambos."
