Dyche on Crouch future

15th May 2019, 19:52 by Nick Harris

Sean Dyche says the final decision on whether Peter Crouch stays at Burnley rests with the player himself.

The 38-year-old joined the club on a short-term deal in the last transfer window and although he has not featured very often, mainly due to injury, he has impressed the manager.

Dyche has made it clear he will offer him a new deal if he wants one but Crouch is pondering retirement and the manager says the final decision is down to Crouch himself.

Dyche told the Burnley Express: "I spoke to him and said 'you want to think about yourself and don't think about me and Burnley, have a think about yourself first', which he will do.

"He has been superb for us and great around the group as well."
