Keeper backs Clarets to trouble City
Joe Hart believes Burnley can make life tough for Premier League leaders Manchester City at Turf Moor on Sunday.
City go into the next round of fixtures as the Premier League leaders after seeing off Manchester United 2-0 on Wednesday, but they may have been knocked off top spot again by the time Sunday's game kicks off as second-placed Liverpool play Huddersfield on Friday night.
Burnley dented Chelsea's top-four hopes by claiming a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Monday and Hart believes the Clarets can claim another result against one of the Premier League's big guns this weekend.
"There's not many secrets about what's coming their [City's] way," he said on Sky Sports. "The boys are in a good moment. They will come with a lot of energy. [Chris] Wood and [Ashley] Barnes are playing well up front and causing a lot of headaches. That's the Premier League, it's hard to win games.
"I'm not going to give anything away about the planning. But the formula is pretty simple."
He added: "They've got to come to Burnley and my side are playing really well. It's a different type of game. They will be playing against a team who will not lie down. "It will be very difficult for them."
Keeper Hart is unlikely to line up against his former club this weekend as he hasn't started a match since the end of December, with Tom Heaton currently Burnley's number one.
