Arter relishing Christmas schedule

24th December 2018, 10:32 by Jack Ogalbe

Harry Arter says he is relishing the prospect of providing some Christmas cheer to the Cardiff fans.

The midfielder joined the Bluebirds on loan from Bournemouth in the summer and has been a key part of Neil Warnock's plans.

After losing 5-1 to Manchester United on Saturday, Cardiff head to Crystal Palace on Boxing Day and will be aiming for their first away win of the season.

While some players bemoan appearing during the festive period, the Republic of Ireland international says he is relishing the chance of giving the fans something to cheer.

"It's my favourite time of the year to play," he told the club's website. "There's always a good feeling around the ground and a real togetherness, no matter who we are playing. There is genuine happiness around the place.

"Our travelling supporters have been brilliant this year, they've been behind us when we've put in good performances but not got a positive result; they've been a credit home and away. They make plenty of noise and hopefully we can give them something to cheer about over Christmas."
