Boss issues Ligue 1 striker warning
Cardiff are ready to pull the plug on their bid for Nantes striker Emiliano Sala after the French club rejected their initial offer.
Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock has suggested the club would not be increasing the offer for the 28-year-old Argentine striker.
Warnock, who has top scorer Callum Paterson and Kenneth Zohore both currently sidelined with injury, will still look to sign a striker in January.
"We did originally (make an offer), but that was turned down and we haven't been back since," Warnock said.
"We won't have a gun pointed to our head figures-wise. Sala's a good player but there's no guarantee he is going to come and rip the Premier League up. It's a different standard."
Warnock had travelled to France to watch Sala play for Nantes although the French club's £25million valuation is too rich for the Bluebirds.
Sala, who has not been capped by Argentina, joined Nantes from Bordeaux for around £1million in July 2015 and has scored 13 Ligue 1 goals this term.
