Cardiff linked with ambitious move for Sociedad striker
Cardiff are lining up a club-record move for Real Sociedad forward Willian Jose should they preserve their Premier League status.
The Bluebirds are in danger of suffering an immediate return to the Championship as they are three points adrift of safety heading into the final three games of the campaign.
A lack of goals has been a major problem for Neil Warnock's side throughout the season, as only bottom-placed Huddersfield have found the back of the net fewer times than their total of 30.
That means a new striker will be a top priority for Cardiff should they perform the great escape and reports are now suggesting they are lining up an ambitious move for Brazilian Willian Jose.
The 27-year-old boasts an impressive record since joining Sociedad in 2016, as he has scored 37 La Liga goals over the last three years, including 10 this season.
Fulham were previously credited with an interest in the former Real Madrid player, but they were put off by Sociedad's reported £45million valuation.
It is unlikely that Cardiff will be willing to pay that fee either, as it would triple their transfer record, but the Bluebirds may be in a position to negotiate if they do preserve their top-flight status.
