Mendez-Laing back with a bang
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has given Cardiff a timely injury boost after playing for the first time since August for the U23s on Monday.
A fairly experienced Bluebirds U23 side won 2-0 against Watford in the Professional Development League Two on Monday, with forward Mendez-Laing getting a valuable first run-out since damaging his posterior cruciate ligament in the Premier League clash with Huddersfield in August.
The 26-year-old impressed with a goal, while Gary Madine also served boss Neil Warnock with a reminder of his talents as he was also on target in the win.
Mendez-Laing, who has 45 senior appearances for City, scoring seven goals, will now continue his recovery by stepping up his training before a likely further U23 run-out over the course of the next fortnight.
If all goes well, Mendez-Laing could be back in first-team contention for the clash at home against Wolves on November 30 or the trip to West Ham that follows on December 4.
