Pellegrini respects dangerous Bluebirds
Manuel Pellegrini has warned his West Ham side that Cardiff's relegation predicament makes Saturday a tougher game for them.
The Bluebirds entertain the Hammers this weekend, with Neil Warnock's side still fearful of the drop as they sit 18th, two points behind Southampton directly above them with nine games to go.
The Hammers have been in decent form recently, in contrast, winning two of their last three Premier League games, but Pellegrini has warned the east Londoners they cannot take the Welsh side lightly, and the fact City are in serious danger of going down makes things even more difficult this weekend.
"It is my duty to convince the players that the position of the table of Cardiff will make it a more difficult game, not an easier game," Pellegrini said.
"They are playing a home game, they will try to add points and they are fighting to avoid relegation.
"They don't have too much of a difference in points from the other teams [in danger]. We need to play a game with a very high pace from the beginning, to be a sharp, aggressive team and win the game."
Cardiff lost the away trip to West Ham in December 3-1.
