Sala deal looks dead as striker rejects Bluebirds offer
Nantes targetman Emiliano Sala has reportedly turned down an almost five-fold pay rise on offer from Cardiff City.
France Football journalist Nabil Djellit claims Sala earns 45,000 euros a month after tax at the moment and has been offered a monthly salary of almost £200,000 by the Bluebirds.
But he would still prefer to stay with Nantes, however, and it looks increasingly likely that Neil Warnock will have to look elsewhere for his striker signing this month.
Warnock had made Sala his number one target and reports in France earlier this month claimed a deal had been struck for the transfer, although the Argentine was not keen to make the move.
Cardiff City reportedly denied having agreed a fee with the French club, whose president felt the £20million on offer was enough.
However, Nantes boss Vahid Halilhodzic did not want to lose his top scorer midway through the season and it seems Sala is equally adamant he won't be joining Cardiff.
