Baker heads for Royals appointment
Chelsea have allowed midfielder Lewis Baker to join Championship strugglers Reading on loan until the end of the season.
The 23-year-old had been scheduled to spend the season on loan at Leeds United but he made just two starts in the Sky Bet Championship under Marcelo Bielsa.
"Chelsea midfield ace arrives at the Madejski until the end of 2018-19," Reading announced on their official website.
"Lewis Baker has completed a loan switch to Madejski Stadium, cutting short a loan campaign with league leaders Leeds to begin a new chapter as a Royal."
Baker, who could make his debut in Saturday's home game against Nottingham Forest, made 14 appearances in total for Leeds.
The England Under-21 international progressed through Chelsea's academy but has featured only once for their senior side, in an FA Cup win at Derby in 2014.
He has had previous loan spells at Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons, Vitesse Arnhem (twice) and Middlesbrough, for whom he made only six starts in the Championship last season.
