Chelsea star still on Toffees radar

18th July 2019, 14:36 by Michael Holland

Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma is still on Everton's radar but Frank Lampard is reluctant to let the player move on.

Zouma impressed while on loan with the Toffees last season and their boss Marco Silva has made signing him on a permanent basis a top priority this summer.

However, trying to strike a deal is easier said than done as Lampard will not be rushed into selling the player, and could even block a move away from Stamford Bridge.

Zouma could have a key role to play this season while Chelsea are under a transfer ban and Everton may have to switch to other transfer targets as the deadline fast approaches.

The 24-year-old has jetted off to Japan with the rest of the Chelsea squad for pre-season which is a clear sign he is firmly in the plans of Lampard.
