Fabregas to sign off with Forest cup tie
Chelsea will hand Cesc Fabregas his final appearance for the club in a much-changed team for the FA Cup tie with Nottingham Forest.
The Spaniard, who has won two Premier League titles with the Blues, has been heavily linked with a move away from west London, with Monaco understood to have a deal in place.
Fabregas is set to start Saturday's visit of Championship outfit Forest ahead of his departure next week.
Olivier Giroud (ankle), Pedro and Willian (both hamstring) are unavailable, but Callum Hudson-Odoi is fit again following a hamstring injury of hos own and could start.
Eden Hazard could be rested, at least to the bench, but Ethan Ampadu is anticipated to be involved.
The Blues are the current FA Cup holders, beating Manchester United in last May's final, and assistant boss Gianfranco Zola says the club will be taking the competition seriously despite their priority being a top-four finish in the league.
"For this club, also for us, the competitions are important. We're trying to establish ourselves in this championship," said Zola. "We want to do well also in the FA Cup. We respect this competition, so we're going to try to do well.
"It's a pity this game comes in a period where we have to play so many games. You have to also make counts and try to save some players. Some of them have played quite a lot of games recently, so we have to be very, very careful."
