Luiz warns Lampard of pressure
David Luiz believes new Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is under pressure to deliver silverware this coming season.
Former Chelsea midfielder Lampard recently took charge at Stamford Bridge, having led Derby to the 2018/19 Championship play-off finals in his debut managerial season, and he is currently putting the squad through their pre-season paces.
David Luiz, who played with the ex-England international, says the new boss is under a degree of pressure due to the silverware previous managers have delivered.
When Antonio Conte was in charge from 2016-2018, the Blues won the Premier League and FA Cup, while Europa League victory came under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri last term.
Speaking about the pressure Lampard is under, Luiz said: "In the last years, we've changed coach but still won things. Now, we have a different coach with a new philosophy. But in the end it is the same thing: you play for a big club and a big club has to win."
Luiz also spoke about the amount of young talent the squad has, adding: "Every single one, they have the quality all ready to play for this club. I have to do my role as a senior player just trying to help them and also to do my job."
