Morata's Blues exit edges closer
Alvaro Morata claims he is relishing his return to Atletico Madrid after passing his medical to edge closer to the Chelsea exit door.
The 26-year-old Spain international looks set to end a disappointing spell in England, 18 months after he first joined Chelsea from Real Madrid in a deal worth around £60million.
Morata has scored 16 goals in the Premier League since he joined the Blues in 2017 but he is now readying himself for a return to Madrid.
He started his career at Atletico before moving on to Getafe and Real Madrid and Morata admits he is excited to return to his roots.
"I've spent days waiting for this," Morata told reporters in Spain. "The past is the past, and it cannot be changed, and I'm very proud of it.
"I am looking forward to everything being completed so I can start training with my team-mates. I began my career at Atletico and the people who know where I come from and know my history know what this means for me."
