Sarri refusing to underestimate tests ahead
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri says his players face a big challenge ahead of them if they want to be strong in all four competitions.
The Blues are pushing for a top-four finish in the Premier League, while they have already managed to reach the final of the Carabao Cup later this month.
Chelsea still find themselves in both the FA Cup and Champions League and Sarri knows how big an ask it is to keep battling on all four fronts in the weeks and months ahead.
“At the moment we have to be happy with our season because in February we are still involved in four different competitions," he told reporters after their 5-0 win over Huddersfield.
“We know we have to fight to stay in the top four. Then we have to try to win something. It will be very difficult because in the Carabao Cup we had to play Liverpool and Tottenham, and now Man City, it’s like the Champions League.
“So here in England everything is very difficult. The championship is very competitive and we know now we need consistency in our performances.
“Today they were very motivated but we lost 4-0 in the last match so they had to react. Now we have to understand the level of motivation must be the same in every match.”
