Crystal Palace v Wolves Team News
Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is unlikely to make wholesale changes to his side for the clash with Wolves despite their hammering against Tottenham last week
James Tomkins is still inching his way back to fitness and was on the bench for the defeat to Spurs but the bench is once again the best he can hope for against Wolves as he gets eased back in after a long lay off.
Midfielder James McArthur is expected to return after missing out last week when he failed a late fitness test and his return will be a boost for Hodgson in the centre of the park.
Jordan Ayew will continue to lead the line as the Eagles look to take advantage of a Wolves side who have had a poor start to the season and lost at home in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Skipper Luka Milivojevic has urged the Eagles to put last week’s poor performance behind them when they run out against Spurs, saying “we start again against Wolves”.
For the visitors, Joao Moutinho and Diogo Jota will return to the starting XI on Sunday after dropping out of the team on Thursday and Willy Boly is available again for league action after missing out last weekend through suspension.
Nuno Espirito Santo must decide between Adama Traoré and Matt Doherty for a starting berth on the right flank, while he may rotate Jesus Vallejo and Ryan Bennett at the back.
“We realise the situation that we are in,” said Nuno. “This is important. We face the reality and the reality says we not performing well so we have to analyse it and find solutions in the team to improve.
“This is what we have to do, we have to come strong on Sunday, we must react immediately.”
