Eagles make contact with Magpies outcast
Reports claim Crystal Palace have spoken with Newcastle’s Mohamed Diame about the possibility of a summer move.
Diame's current deal at St James' Park is set to expire this summer and he will be available on a free transfer next month.
Palace have been monitoring Diame's situation over the past few months and reports claim contact has been made following the conclusion of the season.
West Ham are also understood to be in the running for the former Hull midfielder but Palace appear to have stolen a march on their rivals.
The 32-year-old was signed by Newcastle in the summer of 2016 after bagging 10 goals for Hull as they won promotion from the Championship.
Turkish outfit Fenerbahce have also been linked with the Senegal international but the report states that he would prefer to stay in the Premier League.
