Hodgson hints that he's waiting for Southgate's call
Roy Hodgson has invited Gareth Southgate to call him if he wants any more information on England candidate Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The Palace boss sang the praises of his right-back after he impressed in front of the watching England head coach at Turf Moor on Saturday.
That has led to speculation the 21-year-old could be included in Southgate's squad for this month's Euro 2020 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Montenegro.
And the former England boss has hinted he believes Wan-Bissaka is ready to step up to international level now.
"It’s been a meteoric rise in that he was thrown in at the deep end and he’s immediately started giving Olympic-style swimming performances," Hodgson said after Palace's 3-1 win over Burnley.
"I think he’s got that ability but I never interfere or make comments personally about the Crystal Palace players and their international chances. The people who pick the team are perfectly capable of making their own minds up.
"They know that if they need any extra information about a player, I’m on the other end of a phone."
