Hodgson only missing Sakho for Toon trip
Crystal Palace have a near full-strength squad for Saturday's Premier League trip to Newcastle, with Mamadou Sakho the only absentee.
Boss Roy Hodgson confirmed he has a near full-strength squad at his disposal for the game, with just influential central defender Sakho ruled out for the rest of the season because of a knee injury.
The Eagles go to Tyneside one place and one point ahead of their 14th-placed opponents, and eight points clear of Cardiff in the final relegation place, but Hodgson is looking to get survival points on the board as quickly as possible.
"We realise we need more points and we also realise we are going to be coming up against strong teams," he said. "We know on the days when we produce our best football we are a match for any team."
The former England manager added: "It is a fact of life that staying in the Premier League is the goal. We know it will be a fight to achieve it. We aren't taking anything for granted. We are fighting for every point.
"We take each game as it comes. We will be entering our seventh successive season in the Premier League if we achieve our goal, it's an impressive achievement."
