Palace star keen to move on swiftly

4th April 2019, 13:13 by Bobbie Jackson

Cheikhou Kouyate has urged his Crystal Palace teammates not to dwell on Wednesday's defeat to Tottenham.

The Eagles had the privilege of featuring in the first Premier League game at Tottenham's new stadium, however, they were unable to compete and fell to a 2-0 defeat.

They have the opportunity to make up for a poor performance in north London when they head to Newcastle on Saturday.

Victory at St James' Park could secure another season of top-flight football for the Eagles and Kouyate is keen to see them get the job done.

The midfielder admits Wednesday's performance wasn't good enough but has urged his teammates to forget that game and focus on what lies ahead.

"We need to continue to work hard and prepare for the next game," he said. "We came here to come win so points but we lost. We need to forget this game."

Punters using their free bet may want to back the Eagles to return to winning ways when they head to Newcastle on Saturday.
