Everton linked to Colombian star
Everton could make a January swoop for Boca Juniors midfielder Wilmar Barrios, who impressed alongside Yerry Mina at the World Cup.
The Colombian midfielder has been linked with several top European clubs since his impressive displays at the World Cup and the 25-year-old has a relatively low release clause of 20m euros.
Everton are not necessarily in need of another defensive midfielder but a move for Barrios would appear to have the hallmark of sporting director Marcel Brands, who brought a number of talented South Americans to Europe during his time in Dutch football.
Barrios recently helped Boca reach the final of the Copa Libertadores and, with rumours of interest from Real Madrid and Tottenham rife, he is expected to leave for Europe in 2019.
