Everton receive blow in Mina race
Yerry Mina's agent insists the Barcelona defender has not agreed to join Everton.
Mina only moved to Barca from Brazilian club Palmeiras during the January transfer window, but he has struggled to force his way into the first-team picture at the Camp Nou, featuring in just seven matches across the second-half of the season.
The 23-year-old's stock has risen considerably, however, following his impressive performances for Colombia at the World Cup, as he formed a solid central defensive partnership with Davison Sanchez, while he also contributed three goals, including a stoppage-time equaliser against England in the second round.
Those performances have led to speculation linking Mina with a move to a whole host of clubs, including Everton, with some reports claiming a £21million deal is close to being agreed.
However, Mina's agent, Jair Mina, has dismissed those claims and he insists his client will not be considering his future at Barcelona until he has held talks with the Catalan club.
"It's not true that Yerry has signed for Everton," Jair Mina told Mundo Deportivo. "A lot of teams are interested in Yerry, but first we want to know what the club's intentions are with him. When we know, we will decide.
"His priority is to play, so if he cannot do that at Barca, he will do it for another team. But first we want to know the club's plans with him."
