Everton set to test Birmingham's resolve

9th April 2019, 11:00 by Bobbie Jackson

Reports claim Everton are plotting a swoop for Birmingham striker Che Adams when the summer window opens.

The Toffees have struggled to find a replacement for Romelu Lukaku since his £75million switch to Manchester United in the summer of 2017.

Cenk Tosun, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Oumar Niasse and Richarlison have all failed to fill the void left by the Belgian, and Everton are understood to have turned their attention to Adams.

The 22-year-old is regarded as one of the best strikers in the second-tier, having netted 22 times in the Championship this term.

He was targeted by Burnley in January and reports claim Bournemouth and Southampton are also keen.

A move to the Premier League certainly appears to be on the cards but Birmingham are likely to stand firm with a bidding war set to bump up his value.
