Everton sweating over Lookman fitness
Everton boss Marco Silva looks set to be without Ademola Lookman for the clash at Brighton but does have James McCarthy available.
The Toffees head to the south coast on Saturday looking to back up the 5-1 Boxing Day thrashing of Burnley with another assured away performance.
However, they look set to make the trip without Lookman again, the midfielder having taken part in light training this week but failing to re-join the rest of the squad ahead of the clash with the Brighton.
Meanwhile, McCarthy could be involved for the first time this season with Silva saying he is "ready" to play if called upon after nearly a year on the sidelines with a broken leg.
The Portuguese has also dismissed any fears over the fitness of Andre Gomes after he left Wednesday's win at Burnley early, insisting the Portuguese midfielder should be involved.
Having responded well to the 6-2 mauling at the hands of Tottenham by hammering Burnley, Silva is expecting another good showing from his team for what he expects to be a tough match up against a Brighton side who have become synonymous with being difficult to beat at the Amex Stadium.
"It is always difficult to play there and it will be tough for us," said Silva. "We go there with the big ambition to take the three points. We respect them.
"We know they get many points at home. They are different home and away but we need to play our football and be aware of their quality. They have good quality but we need to believe in ourselves."
