Everton swoop for latest Danish teenager off Lyngby production line

18th April 2019, 14:54 by Simon Barlow

Everton have signed 16-year-old centre-back Sebastian Kristensen from Danish club Lyngby Boldklub.

The deal has been announced in Denmark, although Kristensen won't join up with the Blues until July when he will begin pre-season training with the Everton under-18 squad.

Lyngby have earned a reputation for developing talented players in recent years, including Borussia Dortmund star Jacob Bruun Larsen, Yussuf Poulsen at RB Leipzig and Ajax's Lasse Schone.

A statement from club chairman Birger Jorgensen read: "We are happy with Sebastian's development and his hard work, which now carries fruit in the form of a nice change.

"At the same time, we are proud that we have once again helped develop a player that is interesting for clubs at the top level."
