Everton without Baines for Liverpool visit
Everton defender Leighton Baines has been ruled out of Sunday's Merseyside derby at home to Liverpool due to injury.
Former England international Baines is struggling with a back injury and has failed to recover in time but there is better news regarding Colombian centre-back Yerry Mina, who is in line to feature.
Speaking about the state of his squad at a press conference on Friday, manager Marco Silva said: "Leighton Baines is the only injury. Yerry Mina is OK and is in a better condition than the last match."
Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored in the 3-0 victory at Cardiff City last time out and he is expected to retain his starting place, whilst Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson will be hoping to continue his good form after bagging a brace against the Bluebirds.
Midfield pair Bernard and Andre Gomes both came on as substitutes in the midweek win and they could be reinstalled to the starting XI.
James Mason grew up in Northumberland so is entrenched in both the football and golf scenes. A low handicap golfer, he also follows Newcastle United and predicts big things under Rafa Benitez.
