Gueye to replace injured Gomes
Everton are set to have Idrissa Gueye back in the side in place of the injured Andre Gomes for the trip to Burnley on Boxing Day.
The Senegal international midfielder has missed the last two matches with a groin problem, but is closing in on a comeback.
And boss Marco Silva could pitch him into action against the Clarets after fellow midfielder Gomes was forced off with a knee injury in the 6-2 drubbing against Tottenham on Sunday.
Yerry Mina could also replace Kurt Zouma in defence after the on-loan Chelsea centre-back's poor performance at the weekend.
James McCarthy is also absent for Everton but is closing in on a return to action after a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a broken leg.
Silva is looking for his players to produce a positive reaction to the Spurs defeat against Sean Dyche's struggling Clarets at Turf Moor.
He said: "Every time they [Spurs] went forward everything was easy for them. It is something to work on.
"We as a team didn’t do enough in the match to block them, in many moments we could have done some things differently.
"We play the next match quickly and we have to keep together and realise how we achieved results before."
