I expect Everton to sell me - Vlasic

10th January 2019, 11:16 by Chris Rivers

Nikola Vlasic says his good form at loan side CSKA Moscow will not stop head coach Marco Silva pushing for him to be sold this summer.

The Croatian winger was signed for a fee of £10million from Hajduk Split in the summer of 2017 after impressing against the Toffees in a Europa League qualifier but has found the going tough on Merseyside since his arrival, managing just 12 Premier League appearances.

The 21-year-old has played under three different managers at Goodison Park having been brought in originally by Ronald Koeman and says he sees no future at the club with Silva at the helm.

Vlasic was sent on loan to CSKA Moscow in the summer and has performed well in Russia, scoring seven times in 20 appearances.

Despite playing well for CSKA, Vlasic believes he will be sold by Everton at the end of the season, claiming his face no longer fits at the English club.

"Personally, I have nothing to do with Silva," he told Sportske Novosti. "He had known since the end of last year that he would take over Everton and watch the team and he could not see me because I did not play.

"During the summer he brought some very expensive players. Everton spent £100m last year on reinforcements. They are looking for great names and players from big clubs like Barcelona.

"It is logical that it will be difficult for me to see the player who will strike one of the top six in the Premier League. This will require new £50m reinforcements. So I expect them to sell me as soon as they get their first bid."

Vlasic went to on to take aim at former Everton boss Sam Allardyce, stating: "The football played under Big Sam was awful, if it could even be called football.

"I did not have the status or the minutes. In such football I do not have a place. No-one enjoyed the football, the fans especially."
