Leipzig close on Lookman

18th July 2019, 05:30 by Michael Holland

Ademola Lookman looks set to finally leave Everton and join Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig in a deal worth £22.5million.

Leipzig have been chasing a permanent deal for the player ever since he impressed while on loan in the second half of the 2017/18 season, and look set to finally land their man.

The German outfit offered over £20million last summer but were told by the Toffees that the player was not for sale as he appeared to be in the plans of boss Marco Silva.

However, Silva now appears to be willing to let the 21-year-old move on and the Blues are said to be close to agreeing a deal of £22.5million for his services.

Lookman himself is keen to get back to Leipzig and play some regular first-team football after scoring five goals in 11 league games for them during his loan spell.

The improved bid from the Germans appears to have done the trick, and Lookman is set to get his wish of a move
