Midfielder deserved his chance - Silva
Forgotten man Morgan Schneiderlin never gave up hope of resurrecting his Everton career, according to boss Marco Silva.
The midfielder has not been seen in the starting line up since back in October but was a surprise inclusion on Tuesday night in the win at Cardiff City.
Despite not featuring and becoming a peripheral figure, the France international has apparently made it clear to the boss he wants to stay at the club and fight for his future and the chance to show his £20m price tag was not a waste of money.
"To me, he never said he wanted to leave," Silva told the Echo. "All of the players want to play more.
"Morgan started the season well but he had a difficult moment in his personal life and Andre, Gana and Gylfi played most of the time and were doing really well.
"Tom came in and did well and it is not easy because we have competition between them. But Morgan never gives up.
"Of course, in some moments he has not been happy or with the same confidence but in the last month he was doing well and showing to me he deserved the chance and so I gave it to him."
