PSG struggle to fund Toffees signing
Everton star Idrissa Gueye is still wanted by Paris Saint-Germain but reports claim the asking price may be a problem.
The French champions are on the look out for reinforcements in the January transfer window, but for once they will have to be careful with their cash.
Financial Fair Play restrictions are in place in Paris which means they can only spend a maximum amount of £30million to bring in the player they want.
Everton are keen to keep hold, but even if they did agree to sell, they would be looking for at least £40million and that could be too rich for PSG at this stage.
Lille midfielder Thiago Mendes is also being linked with a move to Everton, which has added fuel to the fire over rumours that Gueye could be sold before the end of the month.
However unless PSG can find away around the finances, a switch to Ligue 1 looks highly unlikely for now, and they may have to look at other targets.
