Toffees starlet targeting further gametime
Jonjoe Kenny is hoping to earn more gametime with Everton after returning to the starting XI against Leicester.
Kenny returned to the starting XI for the first time in almost three months as Everton fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to Leicester on New Year’s Day.
Toffees boss Marco Silva was full of praise for Kenny at the full-time whistle, despite failing to keep a clean sheet, and the Portuguese hinted there could be further chances to come.
Kenny has struggled with injuries over recent times but is hoping to leave those issues in the past as he eyes a regular spot.
"I’ve just got to keep myself focused and keep fit because you never know when you may get a chance, and you have to perform," Kenny told Everton’s official website.
"I’m happy to be back, to get a game and hopefully I can keep on playing well and stay in the team.
"I thought my shot had a chance to go in, but it hit the bar. I was gutted. It was a tough game for us. We created a few chances but to come out with a defeat is not what we want.
"It’s tough to take but we go again on Saturday and try to put things straight in the FA Cup against Lincoln."
