Fulham target Defrel move

3rd January 2019, 14:06 by Tom Hill

Fulham have joined the race to sign Sampdoria striker Gregoire Defrel, according to reports in the British media.

The Cottagers have struggled so far this season and Claudio Ranieri's men are 19th in the Premier League table after 21 matches.

They are on the lookout for more signings this month as they try to move away from the bottom three under the Italian.

While defensive recruits are high on Ranieri's list, he is also keen to give Aleksandar Mitrovic some help up front.

Watford and West Ham United are also interested but all three clubs need to tempt Roma to sell him.

He has scored six goals in 18 appearances since joining Sampdoria on loan and Fulham appear to be leading the race to sign him.
