Le Marchand ready for Latics

5th January 2019, 14:00 by Jack Ogalbe

Maxime Le Marchand says Fulham need to treat Sunday's FA Cup clash with League Two Oldham as a chance to build momentum.

The Cottagers have won only one of their last eight games and with them currently sat in 19th place in the table, need to find some momentum to build a case for survival.

Sunday gives them to get a rare win when they face an Oldham team who have won their last two matches.

Le Marchand says his side have prepared like any other fixture and sees it as a chance to build some confidence ahead of next weekend's trip to Burnley.

"We continue to work hard as we prepare for this game," Le Marchand told fulhamfc.com. "If we win it will give us confidence for the next game in the Premier League, it will be good for us.

"It's a good competition, we want to go as far as possible. It's a game we're looking forward to."

He added: "We have watched some videos of them. We have to be focused because they will want to beat a team who play in the Premier League, so we have to be focused and make sure we're fully prepared."

Fulham are one of 14 clubs to have made the FA Cup final but never won it and punters may look to use their free bet to back them to lift the trophy at Wembley on May 18.
