Ranieri confident of Mitrovic goals
Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri is adamant Aleksandar Mitrovic will start scoring goals again this season.
Serbia international Mitrovic has scored seven Premier League goals this season but he has failed to hit the back of the net since his brace in the 3-2 victory at home to Southampton on November 24.
The 24-year-old spurned several chances in the 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanders on Boxing Day and there are reports he could be dropped to the bench for the visit of Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
However, Ranieri, who led Leicester City to the title in the 2015/16 season, has thrown his full support behind Mitrovic and is confident his goal drought will come to an end sooner rather than later.
"He played very, very well yesterday. He was unlucky, but this is the life of a striker. He is ready to restart scoring goals," he said at a press conference. "He makes a very good sacrifice. He closes the space, he is ready to go and counter-attack. That is my way to try and save this team.
"I think we have to continue this way. We create chances, we miss chances. I am sure if we continue to create chances, sooner or later, we will score."
