Terriers hold Maupay interest
Huddersfield are one of three teams reportedly showing an interest in signing Brentford forward Neal Maupay this month.
The Terriers are in desperate need of adding some extra firepower to their squad, as they have only scored 13 goals in their 21 Premier League matches this term, with only one of those strikes coming from a forward - Steve Mounie's header in the recent 2-1 home defeat to Burnley.
A striker certainly seems to be David Wagner's main priority during the January transfer window and Brentford star Maupay appears to be high on his wish-list.
The Frenchman is one of the leading scorers in the Championship this season, with 15 goals to his name, but Huddersfield are not believed to be the only club interested, as Aston Villa, who are managed by former Brentford boss Dean Smith, and Middlesbrough are also keeping tabs.
Brentford are believed to want around £20million to part ways with Maupay, which could prove something of a stumbling block for Huddersfield, as they may feel that is too much to pay for a striker with no Premier League experience.
