Wagner hopeful over Kongolo loan
AS Monaco defender Terence Kongolo is close to joining Huddersfield Town on loan for the rest of the season, according to David Wagner.
The 23-year-old only moved to the reigning French champions for 13million euros in the summer having departed Dutch side Feyenoord after making 138 appearances over six seasons.
But Kongolo has struggled to make an impact with Monaco, with just six appearances in the first half of the Ligue 1 season and he is looking for a loan move next month to get some regular first-team action.
Monaco's French rivals Bordeaux are thought to be keen on a deal, but Wagner has revealed that he is set to move to the Premier League.
Speaking after his side's 3-0 defeat at Leicester on Monday, the Terriers boss said: "I can confirm that we are approaching a deal.
"We are charmed by him, we know him and now we are going to see what will happen in the transfer period, I can not answer very concretely, but we are close and hopefully we can pull the deal off."
