We need to work on scoring - Hogg

Huddersfield need to work on converting chances into goals during the international break, according to Jonathan Hogg.

The 29-year-old midfielder has been left frustrated at the Terriers' start to the Premier League season as the side sit in the relegation zone on three points and without a win in their opening eight matches.

However, it could have been very different had Town managed to convert just a fraction of the opportunities they have created in some games.

A perfect example is the weekend's 1-1 draw at Burnley when they had 19 shots at goal compared to the hosts' six, but they only picked up a point.

Hogg told the Examiner: "We must have got in Burnley's box 15 or 20 times and it's so frustrating to dominate like that and come away with only one point.

"That was the hardest thing to take because over the last few weeks our performances have been great. But we need to work over the international break on scoring goals.

"That's something we need to improve on but I'm sure if we keep playing like that it will come - we are enjoying playing that kind of football."

Hogg, who was guilty of spurning a good chance at Turf Moor, added: "My shot over the bar should have been hitting the target. We need to work on something because we need to start hitting the back of the net to pick up some results.

"Everyone knows it because we can see it from the statistics, but we need to stay positive and keep working hard."
