Ajax star emerges as Leicester target

17th April 2019, 11:04 by Bobbie Jackson

Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech is attracting plenty of interest across Europe with Leicester the latest club to be linked with a move.

The 26-year-old started out his career with Heerenveen before agreeing a move to Dutch giants Ajax for a reported 11million euros in the summer of 2016.

He has since established himself as a key figure in Amsterdam with some stunning performances domestically and in the Champions League.

European giants Bayern Munich are known to be big admirers of the Morocco international, while Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton have also been credited with an interest.

But Leicester are hoping to win the race for his signature as they look to add a new dimension to their attack for 2019-20.

Ziyech has bagged 15 goals in 25 Eredivisie appearances this term, laying on a further 15 assists, and Brendan Rodgers believes he could play a part in taking the Foxes to the next level.

The report states that Ajax, who are prepared to put up a fight for their star assets this summer, are demanding a fee in the region of 35million euros.
